Located twenty-five miles west of Philadelphia in Langhorne, Sesame Place is a wonderful locale to spend a weekend with your younger children. The icon of children’s television comes alive before your very eyes, and there’s so much to see and do that the whole family will have no problem devoting an entire afternoon here.
The most impressive spot within Sesame Place is Sesame Neighborhood, which is a full recreation of the show’s set. Your children can wander along the boulevard and take in such sights as Oscar The Grouch’s trashcan/home and Mr. Hooper’s store. The feeling of “being in a famous place” will doubtlessly thrill the little ones.
There is also a plethora of character-themed rides and attractions which cater to a child’s need to explore. Everything from Rubber Duckie Pond, a wading pool of sorts, to Cookie Mountain, a child’s fortress, will endlessly amaze your tots.
On a hot summer day, nothing beats Sesame Island. Aside from the aforementioned Rubber Duckie Pond, this waterpark features slides like the Sesame Streak and the Big Slipper. Fun in the sun is the name of the game at Sesame Place.
All in all, parents should certainly consider Sesame Place when planning a summer expedition to the Philadelphia area. With its mix of recognizable characters and exciting attractions, this is well worth the price of admission.
